We created gloss48 back in 2011 (which will sound impressive when it’s 2061) when online beauty sites were all about shopping vs. exploring/obsessing and then shopping.  If you were to visit any of the major beauty sites, you pretty much had to know exactly what you were looking for, search for it amongst the 4,000-deep product catalog, and then make your purchase.  For those of us with a particular fixation on beauty products (junkie is so…well… accurate), this experience just isn’t satisfying.

And so gloss48 was born; combining brand stories, product demos, editorial reviews, and the best pricing online to give beauty lovers a daily glimpse of beauty nirvana.  To keep things interesting, we feature amazing products from new, emerging, and cult brands.  Please let us know if we missed any!

Who are we?  You are probably picturing a couple of Carrie Bradshaws, Celebre-tweens, or Vogue editors.  Thank you for that.  While we have a healthy obsession with beauty products, we are also just a couple of normal ladies with some other healthy obsessions, including Pinterest, great restaurants, and hygienic nail salons.  Some days, we resort to the dry shampoo and rearview mirror makeup routine just like everyone else.

We promise to enable your beauty habit, at least for a moment each day, with fabulous brands and product.  Think of us as your digital beauty counter, with all of the great beauty advisor tips, but none of the pressure.
